Lauren Layne has a talent for spinning a story with memorable characters, realistic plots & lots of emotion. Throughout this series, all of the characters have grown & found their loves. No one fades into the background. They all stay an essential part of the next story since they are becoming more than boss/employees but friends & family. This detail creates a higher emotional connection as you go along. In this final book, you can sense the tight control Alexis has always kept on her emotions beginning to crack. Logan has finally had enough & his sarcastic wit is delightful & funny while it bewilders Alexis & forces her outside her comfort zone. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series & I think you will too. (Although I will not stop hoping for the series to be revisited so Jessie can find her HEA too!)

Finally! The story of "The couple who wasn't a couple." I have been waiting to read To Love and to Cherish for what seems like forever! Lauren Layne has been giving us small doses of Alexis Morgan, owner and founder of The Wedding Bells, since From This Day Forward and with each book I only craved more of her. From the previous books, we've learned that Logan Harris, The Wedding Belle's sexy British accountant, has been interested in Alexis for years now. Alexis, on the other hand, has never allowed her emotions to show, so I couldn't wait to get in her head and see what was really going on in there.

I can't even put into words how much I absolutely loved the way this final book started off! The prologue was a flashback to 8 years ago on the night Alexis and Logan first met. I shipped these too so hard and really wanted a happy ending for this pair. It was great to get a back story on how The Wedding Belles got started; I only wish we had gotten more of those flashbacks. Alexis was a hard puzzle to crack, but Logan has known her for years and knew that patience was key. From what I had come to know about Alexis, I agreed with the different methods he attempted to try and woo her. Pushing too hard would only push her away. It was a thin line he had to walk in order to exit the dreaded friend zone!

This entire series has been filled with yummy male leads and Logan was no exception! I am a total sucker for anything British, but Logan was just perfection! He's got the whole Clark Kent/Superman thing going for him and it was giving me life. I admired his patience, but loved his no nonsense side even more. *sigh* Lauren Layne is fantastic at describing scenes in a way that makes you feel like you are another guest at the table. It was great to catch up on the other couples we've come to love and some of my favorite scenes were those of Josh, Seth, and Logan having guy time.

I was extremely pleased with how this series turned out and I was very thankful to have found another auto-buy author! I pre-ordered To Love and to Cherish moments after finishing For Better or Worse and I look forward to doing the same with Layne's future books! If you have not read this series yet, do yourself a favor and get to it! Yummy guys, hard working ladies, amazing bonds, and loads of laughs - you truly can't ask for more!

Alexis Morgan, the New York wedding planning business owner, finally gets her own love story. And hero/ other half is... none other than her longtime friend, business partner, and accountant Logan Harris. They've been close friends for eight years since she started her dream of owning a blossoming wedding planning company in Manhattan.
Logan meets Alexis in a small, hole-in-the-wall bar when she was the business was still just a dream. They connect in a deep way, while sharing dinner and drinks. Logan does something unexpected. He invests in her dream, fronting her the money she needs to start making her dream a reality. Alexis can't quite believe a total stranger is doing this.

That's probably the best meet cute EVER! And even Alexis feels the connection between this perfectly charming and BRITISH stranger.

So we as readers realize that Logan has loved Alexis since the beginning. Since he first saw her and that's the reason he gave her the money for her dream. Unlucky for him, Alexis is still oblivious to his affections and keeps him at arms length and the "friends zone". Present day and eight years later, he still yearns after the classic brunette beauty. Logan gets a call from his dad saying he needs to come home and run the family business. But his heart twists at the thought of leaving Alexis. His father makes him a deal he gets one month to make Alexis his or he comes home for good. Talk about a short timetable.

Talk about a swift kick to the heart and ego! After finding out the heartbreaking information, the always polished and sensible woman makes a decision. She chooses to put her profile put on a dating website. This is very unlike Alexis. And when Logan hears of this news, he decides it is time to make his play for Alexis' heart.

Alexis and Logan's relationship starts changing from business partners and friends to more than that. And when their dynamic changes, they start changing too. Logan decides it's better to speak up about what you want than to sit on the sidelines. Alexis realizes that work and her company are not more important than the people in your life. The business won't make her happy in all the ways that count to achieve a happy life.

I really loved this book and it was my favorite of the series!!! I was waiting for Logan. Sweet and quiet British heroes have a soft spot in my heart.
