Jay McLean has done it again..she uses her words to comfort, slay, redeem, laugh, mourn, hate and finally understand all that is Logan Preston. Through the other books at a glance he is the brat, the one lost in a cloud of smoke. But to those closest to him, he is everything.

This book has so much depth. It has you wanting, suffering, rebuilding and the unwavering unselfish love of family. A broken boy that uses others to escape; whether it's Mary, randoms, just anything to dull the ache that life can create. You want more for him. You want her for him.

She has something different. She holds the truth. She is love. She is strength. She is everything.

This story is beyond stars. Words that claimed my heart and haven't let go. Every McLean book I read I think "this is my favorite" but seriously this might be. Logan is everything. Reading this story will have you going through a laundry list of emotions, and at the end of it all you will thank your lucky stars that you cracked open page one. I can't fully express how much I invested in this one. I have never been so completely owned by a fictional character. Highs, lows, just rights, every single twist and turn you just want more for all of them. Words. They are rad.

I started and stopped this review several times. I can’t do it justice.

Little Logan was always a trouble maker. It always seemed good natured, but something drives him. Now he’s a man set on a path of destruction. He is living his life in the past. The death of his mother has left some serious scars, but does he have other demons driving his self destructive behavior?

Aubrey is a bright light in his dull existence. She just wants to know him, he thinks she just wants to change him.

This sounds like a dark, humorless book. ITS NOT!! In true Jay Mclean style she leaves you laughing through tears. The banter in this book is her best yet. You fall in love with them as a couple.

But when you’re set on self destruction, sometimes you destroy everything in your path.

The surrounding characters are amazingly written. You get to meet some new people and say hi to a few favorites.

This is my absolute FAVORITE book thus far by JMac. I’ve devoured every book she’s ever written!!

Those were two words I dreaded seeing. I kept on telling myself, I have to do this or that. But nope Jay’s addictive words held me at bay. And I read this all through the night.

Logan and Aubrey. Two souls who were just destined for each other. You never really know what you're going to get with Jay’s books. You know definitely that you will laugh, that there will be mayhem, and you will cry.. don’t fight it. Because it happens. Reading this almost felt like I was at home. I’ve followed these characters for a while now. It’s such a great feeling to see these characters grow, change and the depth that’s inside each and every one of them.

I believe highly in a spoiler-free review. Because I don’t want to give away the goods. Ruin it for everyone. I’m not a ruiner. This was not an easy read, it had that feeling of heaviness but you never really understood. Until it was all revealed. It’s very deep raw emotion and I felt it. But even though there's that heaviness, there’s that feeling of family. That you know that it will be alright again. Because it just has to be.

Overall, I give this Five Boundless Stars.
I'm struggling to write my review for this book because it was just so phenomenal I'm not sure the words I can come up with are enough. So I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I always love Jay's writing, but Logan was next level for me. Logan was the perfect new adult romance read, with a deeply emotional and REAL side. with that perfect dose of family that Jay always weaves in. It was deeply emotional. Dark at times, and definitely WILL make you uncomfortable. It is angsty, sexy, fun, and so real. It was honestly everything. If emotions were bases Jay successfully tags each one with Logan.

That being said, Logan is troubled "bad boy player" done oh so right. I'm so glad we got a glimpse beneath the bravado.

Side note - I realize I'm an adult and have a family of my own, but can I be adopted by the Preston's? Please? The Preston's are THAT family. You know the one who gives you exactly what you need when you didn't even know it. Hell. I'm not even sure they realize they are THAT family or what exactly they do, but none the less they are THAT family. I think we should all strive to be that family because they are goals.
It’s no doubt that Jay McLean holds a special place in my heart and on my bookshelf. Her way with words just never fails to amaze me. She writes about family, friends, and love with all passion and all heart. You’ll feel the emotions bleed and flow from every sentence, every dialogue on every page. She will always make you feel like a part of this world she created, this family beyond blood and beyond distance. She’ll make you love and hurt and heal. That’s what this book feels like.

Logan is raw, gritty, genuine, impassioned and poignant. It tells you of a story that we think we already know, but a handful of chapters in, you’ll discover that you are one with Aubrey in asking “What’s beneath the bravado Logan Preston?”. I admire that Jay is always so brave in tackling storylines and characters that most authors shy away from. The way she wrote Logan’s struggles and his motivations are bold and enlightening. It challenges the reader to face hard truths and grapple with the swirl of emotions going through each character.

Overall, Logan is another must-read from Jay McLean. The way she plies her characters and the stories beneath each emotion is one of a kind. I love how Logan’s journey took shape and came full circle. Get ready to have sweaty eyeballs and be prepared to have your heart leap out of your chest. Logan + Aubrey is out to win your hearts.
